Wow not quite wordless

This is not about what if's...

This is about what will be..., Will be.

My deficiency in math is typically glaring and I am just going to do my best and finish.  That means a bit of preplanning to spread the substitute fabrics around.  But  I need to remember this is a bed quilt so only two sides are always seen together.

I have enough yellow, enough aqua, enough pink.  I have not enough original light floral, nor enough substitute light floral.  The light mauve was used elsewhere in the top and is up for a possible.  The yellow green I bought to make up for the shortage of the original is almost gone.  I should have got double!  :(

It will be what it will be! Hind sight on this quilt top is that I should have used only a few colours and not tried to get cute with light, medium, and dark for all the main colours, especially with the design changing as I progressed and the passage of too much time.  I have definitely learned a good and valuable lesson!

It will be fine!  ;^)

Elle Dear this quilt has taken on a life of its own. It will be a labor of love and cherished because you made it. Do not worry about fabrics or colors or such. The end is in sight my friend...

It is a very ambitious pattern and it looks wonderful so far. Sometimes a quilt just wants to be something other than what you intended.

I love it and if you don't tell anyone they will not notice (except maybe the most experienced quilters).
That being said you will probably do what we always do to ourselves. Criticize ourselves before someone else can. A common theme among women.
This quilt is a perfect proof that Spring is almost here!!!

I think that these kind of challenges make our quilts all the more interesting visually. I am sure it will be a beauty!

Yes, elle, all will be well in the end. Just think, most of our quilting ancestors rarely used fabric that matched! And look at the work of Bonnie Hunter. "Green" can mean a variety of things...

It WILL be fine, elle! You are right about only two sides at once. Besides, your lovely springy colours will dazzle 'em so not to worry!
