Journeying

Life is a journey!

I seem to have gotten off into some kind of cul-de-sac and ended up going around in circles this last quarter.  But I am back on the main path and headed down the road once again.

I have spent a bit of time wondering if I should turn around and try to do some of the undone things that got dropped along the wayside behind me.  I have decided to only scoop up a few dragging projects but for the most part I shall move ahead.

But I'm not the only undecided one.  Strange season.  Very cold, wet and late.  Then the poplar fluff started flying and I'm sure there is some dandelion seeds floating around as well.  I have never seen the seeds from the cottonwoods this heavy before.  The ground is coated.  Of course, the really hard frost last night and the night before is adding to the whiteness and the wetness so they are quite stuck in place. oye, more weeding ahead!

We'll have to see if the fruit trees can survive this late frost.

Speaking of fruitful, our household has increased by one more person and a small 3 pound Chihuahua! :0   More stuff and my own stuff needs to continually be addressed.  :(   This seems to be a constant challenge.

I knew I would be changing the format of daily journaling. I really liked the 52 cards in a deck idea but I am not at all ready for that so I will pursue 12 handmade books.  The first one is made using Teesha Moore's tutorials.    I may try a different way each month because doing them all the same doesn't really inspire me to do my best.

I also need to get back on track with my classes.  I do enjoy them and when I was was considering my options I had to 'kill' my power button to keep from adding any new ones.  sheesh!

I shall sing that song-  "same song, second verse; a little bit louder and a little bit worse!" as I paste all the projects for the second quarter of the quilting Finish Along into the third quarter.  I have to.  I have no place to put the stack I have gathered!  lol

I am continuing to finish up the home deco projects.  The table top is not cooperating and I was ready to say good enough but my dsil says he'll come back next week and sand it down again.   I need to turn my thoughts to the two book cases for each side of the stove.  I think I want a lighter inside  but they should kinda blend into that wall.  Maybe something similar to the chairs!  Gold outside and that yellow white on the inside. Then the accessories will be the items that stand out.

I do like blogging.  It helps clarify things.  Who knew there was such a curve and so many bumps in the spring journey but it is okay to "pick oneself up, dust oneself off, and start all over again!".    I am trying to find the balance between a rigid schedule and a forward moving plan.

Hi Ho!  Hi Ho! Its off to work I go....

You've expressed how I'm feeling right now too, elle -- a touch overwhelmed, a touch fuzzy-minded, but knowing that if I put one foot in front of the other, forward movement will happen -- eventually!

Elle Dear you are a wise woman to move forward and not dwell on the projects that got side-lined. Life is a constant moving target and we are only along for the ride. Hold on and stay the course my friend...

it is a strange season this year. Normally spring has me invigorated, but this year I am feeling overwhelmed as well. Good advice to not try and pick up everything that has fallen - I will give that a try. Moving forward now!

I really enjoyed reading your post and it seems it has hit home with many, as we often get on that cul-de-suc as you said, not going in the direction we intended. I like your attitude and how you deal with this journey!

Was that white stuff cottonwood "fluff" or snow? What a wild ride you've taken us on this month. And to think it's just the first week of the month, too.

We all have days, weeks and months where we chase our tails around in circles....out of frustration or just for the fun of it...just keep putting one foot in front of the other and it will all straighten out!

beeeeeeeeeeautiful photos! oh it looks so pretty there. I do agree - blogging helps clarify things. THough I find myself censoring my thoughts knowing there are so many readers. I think my most creative self needs a new blog under an alias. She could go much further than me! ; )
