Lutradur, may I try it?

What, may you ask, is Lutradur?

Basically it is a non woven stabilizer used in upholstery and automotive processes. It comes in different weights and is usually white but can be found in a grey. It can be bought by the yard at some fabric stores but also in packages.  A more comprehensive article on it can be found here.

Lesley Riley has done a lot to introduce Lutradur to the the mixed media bag of tricks.

There are many techniques that can be used on Lutradur.  It is very versatile.  These include painting, dyeing, inks, drawing, stitching,  embossing, image transfers, screen printing, stamping and stenciling, foiling, needle felting, heat distressing, ...

Using ideas from Lesley's books, I want to make a memory box and fill it with pages that focus on various techniques but follow the theme of Mother, may I...

I will be posting my findings on Thursdays, May 8,15, 22, and 29.  I am learning lots about my family and lots about Lutradur.  I hope this will be memorable.  ;^)

It's fun to see your Lutradur play. I've found that, painted with silver metallic craft paint, it makes great grain bins in my landscapes. :-)
