Common Threads quilt group last night. Show and tell. Many are still working on the spiral table runners and some got the latest 'snippets' challenge done. It was all about hand piecing and hand quilting and I've been there, done that, and have realized if I'm to finish anything at all, it'll be with the machine. I do like hand sewing bindings and hand applique. But time constraints will have me looking for better options for those as well.
Home stretch with the sampler. Two more sides to go! No time to slack off now so I'll be back for a look at my work surfaces tomorrow.

I'm with you. I learned to quilt by hand piecing but I much prefer the machine now. I do hand quilt the odd quilt but the last one has been on the go for 3 winters while I've whipped up many machine quilts.
Hand quilting cured me of ever wanting to quilt! Way too slow and tedious for me.
One of my first quilts was a hand-pieced and hand-quilted Double Wedding Ring... I'm much happier working my sewing machine!
These spiral table runners are amazing...however they look like a ton of work. I would be horrified if anything spilled on one. You and Nina keep stitching happily and your projects will be finished in no time.
Hand stitching is called slow stitching for a reason. It is SLOW. I can't do it because of my arthritis, but I admire those who do. Of course, I think machine stitching is more fun, even with my do-nothing machine.
