Finish Five,part A
This quilt top is the main reason I joined the Finish a Long. It had been languishing way too long. It is my daughter's wedding quilt and child number three is here. :( I learned a valuable lesson on procrastinating. I can't even find the book that has the original wall hanging directions. I just made it bigger and got overly clever with all the colours and 'flowers'! The wedding saw all but the last row and a half done. Then she sat. and sat and SAT! enough. But even with the April deadline I dragged my feet and that has put the other ufo's behind. BUT...
She is done and I will be putting her on the second quarter list for machine quilting and the final part B. The binding is worrying me. Why did I let DD talk me into all those curves???
The north rooms are also in part A mode. I am slowly putting things back. I need to think about some kind of curtain for the sliding doors. on the other hand... Privacy isn't an issue so I'll make haste slowly. lol I am also deciding about darkening the table under the mirror and the round dining room table. Then there are colour decisions for the hutch and bookcase.
I hope to roll through some starched strips through the binder later today for the next twoquilts. Is that a finish line just ahead???

It depends...
on the light. I'm not talking about the time change althought the Rooster has had a hard time adjusting his early morning crow. He rather liked going to work in the light and we are back to dark.
Which is what the new paint job portrays.
The glaze is a bit of brown in a whole lot of clear! It depends on how the light touches it and I do like the changes. The Rooster likes it in morning light! I made him get his ruffled feathers and coffee cup out of the way. He is still looking for his favourite roost! lol
More touch ups, trim, and then the floor.
Morning light!
And how do you like my new poster boy???

almost there
It has been hard to keep my mind on what I'm supposed to be doing! It'll be nip and tuck to see who finishes first. lol
But I definitely need to stay focused! :(
I have the three corner blocks to make but I will sew the three borders together first so I can see better what goes next to what. And I hope....
But things are rapidly changing!
Why was I sweating? The ceiling is hardly noticeable. lol
Now there is a difference!
The ceiling changes with where you are looking at it.
Hardly any noticeable difference here but then over there. I luv it!
There is a lovely section of texture right here. If you can't see, it just wait. More changes are coming! For the north rooms. I hope there are no more changes to that #+/&%, ahem! , to that particularly mind boggling quilt top!

Enjoying the view!
I have been trying not to do anything except the blocks for the wedding quilt but the painters arrived this morning for the paint selection. I had spent the weekend clearing everything out. It will be kinda exciting to start all over with a clean slate!
Now after months of choosing and evaluating my colour choices they had offered me an amazing option and invited me over to see their house. !!! They have used an old world technique that I had admired in my aunt's old apartment. I can have it! :) We will tweak it as they do it but I am quite excited and will post the progress. Gosh, it'll be hard to stay focused on those darn blocks for the wedding quilt but I'm determined not to do ANYTHING else until they are done. Well, except maybe watch the progress on my dryng paint!
