Wow my worktable is orange colored
The wow today is more about what is NOT on my worktable any more. I am finished the Altered Book, Leaves and I can now concentrate on some other things.
Creativity 101 with Jenn has us trying our hand at making some cards.
I also have spread out my new fabric choices and I am super excited about a package of Bali's I impulsively snatched up in my search for some FQ's of orange. You must admit that there are a few oranges in the mix! lol It is called Tonga Treats and is from Timeless Treasures and has 40 10" x10" pieces.
I also shopped my stash of stuff and found a duvet cover that I got from the thrift shop and I'm considering it for curtains in the new sunshine room.
hmm, oranges are a Christmas treat. I wonder if anyone has done an orange themed Christmas! :)
I'm linking to The Needle & Thread Network. I bet they are busy on seasonal stuff!

Wow, I'm back quilting
I need a quick and fun project to get me back in the quilting groove again. I could pick up with any of the dozen wips (works in progress) I have or I can start a whimm (work hidden in my mind). There are even more of them! Guess what I chose?
I have been seeing some quilts from Cheryl and Amanda's book, Sunday Morning Quilts. The one on the bed is the one I'm liking. I'd luv to do it in a lighter look but this will get me started.
Lots of great quilts out there to get anyone inspired and for some inspiration, I'm linking up to The Needle and Thread Network.

Workshop in Progress- oranges

The back could be better as far as proportion and colour matching but this is about progressing in my design capabilities. Always room for improvement.

This background is white with lighter motifs. These average about 3" but do not overlap at all.

Then there is a coordinating stripe.
My first choice is hand applique which I like but that would not improve my machine applique skills. I could satin stitch the raw edges or I could do some blind stitching around turned under edges.

But...
Is the top busy enough already?
Are the circles big enough, too small?
Should I sprinkle a dozen or so all about or cluster them in the lower quarter?
oye! Time for a juice break!

I found the oranges!

While clearing off the layers of projects on my design wall so I could lay out the blocks, sashing and set in triangles for the last WIP I posted about, I unearthed an old WIP.
These are for the bunks in the Sunshine room. The tops were done and the backing option laid out. Hmm, I need to finish these up.

I need this decided, done and off the wall so I can get the front room quilt up and progressing.
EDITED: The strips of orange prints is the quilt top. I have laid the backing options alongside to see how they play together. I'm trying to also decide if I can 'easily' applique circles randomly onto those strips. Sorry I can't find my back link to the original post for these tops as I got the original idea from SueSewn and she had the circles on hers.

Oranga glad it is Tuesday
I like Tuesday!

A good beginning has been made.

This could be a very fruitful and productive week.

If yellow is sunny, well then orange is down right happy.

Definitely a warm colour.

And sometimes a serious colour.

A fall colour, a time for dyeing.

And a time for playing.
Please note the photographer's assistant wants credit for his help!
