Grand mothering

Things are slowly getting back to a familiar routine with some continuing babying of the throat.

Soon as we drop the parents off for their appointment the grand Kiddies and I will be checking out the Children's Museum in the city.  I remember taking the youngest son and he just luved it there.  I plan on moving from bench to bench as they explore one fascinating area after another.

We got the Mother's Day necklace all done and boxed up for the big day.

The altered book design elements are due Monday and I did a bit with my technique pages.
I am really liking the idea of using maps.  They convey a lot- line, motion, texture.  I shall be keeping a eye out for maps on my field tripping!  I just hope my energy level can keep up to what the day's map has laid out.

I like your thinking with using the maps in the altered book - pages are coming along nicely.

Bench to bench and lots of fluids dear elle. This necklace turned out lovely. Your altered book is quite the work of art. I use maps I get from my local AAA office and when I visit cities who have freebies for tourists. I shall try to remember to send you a map of our local gold country in California. That might be fun for you to use. Enjoy your Mother's/Grandmother's weekend and keep getting better. Healing Hugs and Joyful musuem exploring...

Thrift shops are a great source of old atlases. Love the necklace!

Golly Elle, has it been THAT long since I've been online? I didn't even realize you were sick until I visited and saw the post. That is a gorgeous necklace. Very impressive.

And of course, I love, love what you are doing in your AB. I just wish you felt better. I look forward to the post where you show what you have done with the lesson. Looks like you are well on your way.

Both maps and dress patterns are favorites of mine. In the US, you can get maps free from your local State. I've never seen them at yard sales, but I have seen old atlases, which are just as good. Lovely idea, too.
