Time to fly!

Pretty soon I am going to be forced to admit to the old adage that "I'm not as young as I used to be."  Physically, that is.  I am certainly a junior senior citizen in my mind and spirit!

I did get the Rooster all set up for my week away.  The mending and the laundry are all up to date.  The household is made up of more than me, so the chief cook and bottle washer is a role that others will fill and fill admirably.

I saw a robin fly past my open window.  I see little green shoots.  I have tried to explain to the Rooster what he can scratch out of the flower beds and what he should leaver alone! :O  Actually he likes to weed.  He has just never gotten too involved in my landscaping but as the whole yard has gotten away on me he has flown to my rescue and identified some bi-annual weeds that need uprooting asap in spring.  The snow drops are visible.  I've told him to look for bulbs as the tulips are starting up just outside the camera's range in the above photo.  I don't know  what will come up around the house as those four big pigs rooted it up last fall.  Looks good as far as nicely cultivated but I don't see anything green! :(

Unfortunately the bracelet I made during Wednesday's Creativity 101 doesn't go with what I am taking on the trip.  I need to study some of the other things I made.

If  I could find where I put the bracelet that these go on I would have a quick project.  This makes me more determined than ever to continue purging and simplifying. I didn't get the journal pages done but I did clean the studio so I will have no excuse for getting it done as soon as I am home.

The tote is a success.  I am very pleased with it. The jacket didn't happen because of time and I also did not have the large amount of yardage that a reversible jacket requires. I don't want to put it too far out of sight as maybe I can fit it into Fall's to-do list.  I found a nice rain jacket, 3/4 length that just needed the Velcro straps removed so I can roll up the sleeves a bit.  I used my black thread to just touch up the seams and I'm good to go.

I did have the packing pretty much under control until I went to Winnipeg for the rain coat and good walking shoes.  hmmm.  It was one of those days where whatever I needed was jumping off the rack at me.  Rare but it does happen once every five years so...  lol

I perhaps shouldn't have gotten this shoulder bag but it was on sale and it just goes with my brown and turquoise theme.  The purse snatchers will spot me a mile away.  LOL

One other thing I bought on sale was a tablet.  I haven't really done much with it but I so hate playing catch up with my blog roll and perhaps I can even figure out how to fly by and say hi!

And as soon as I transfer all the important stuff from my old purse I shall be ready to fly.  Take out for supper, a short nap and then off for a very early morning flight.

Look out NYC.  Elle is flying the coop!
