Living in the green zone

WOW I got a question!
I am still doing some catch up from our time away but even though a new set of winter flurries is descending I am thinking green. I do 'sew' want to make a green Irish Chain quilt but I want it with a modern twist. This will be the March wall hanging. I don't really have time to start another project but that hasn't stopped me before. :O I do think I have something already done for April. I hope I do and I think of hope as green. If spring ever arrives it'll start kinda grey green and that is what I have in mind. Instead of the regular square chain I am wondering if triangles would be acceptable. Or, is there a really cool modern version out there that I don't know about???
I'm also mixing medias and trying my hand at repurposing a coffee can and an old recipe box. Fun but a bit messy so I am trying very hard to keep today's project separate from it.
I am ready to quilt the kitchen wall hanging. I hate marking but it looks like I am going to have to do some better marking than just using my 'estimations'! The ripples aren't really there. I'm using my new Fantastico thread. Just the right variegation's. I should have it ready for show and tell for the next TNTN.
I have also been spending a bit of time trying to figure out what would be a good iPhone/smart phone to replace our land line. I understand it can also replace the wireless stick that I now use to connect to the Internet. I do have a few questions that need answers. :O hmm, I wonder if I can get a green phone??? ;~)

Which comes first, the forest or the trees?
I had my coffee this morning in the front room as I studied my focus fabric and made observations and notes.
I had thought square for the dimensions but I think a rectangle fills the space better and echoes many of the design elements in this room.
I think three long sections with a vertical sashing that shows off the gradation on each side of the centre section. 1/3 of the six by twelve inch blocks can be strips, 1/3 plain with some stenciling, and 1/3 I thought could be applique.
I did a quick inventory of my fabric paints and reviewed the technique. I'd want to make my own stencils, probably from freezer paper.
Then I measured and measured again and cut my sections which will be cut again into blocks but I need to audition more fabrics. I haven't determined the sashing width either but it'll be narrow.
I don't plan on going shopping so I shopped my stash. This can work although I can see lots of tweaking.
The first thing is to move the centre section up about three inches. A bit blurry but this gives the squint test. ;) I don't intend to procrastinate but I do want to give this a bit of time to percolate. Sometimes I get a better idea but it is too late. :(
I also need to do some multi tasking and work on some paper projects. I do believe I have some kind of forest happening and now I need to find some trees so I can identify the leaves!

May BE
Where has this first quarter of 2013 gone?
With prep for my trip, the trip and then the cold and sniffles after the return ... I could add that I now have 2 house guests, neither of whom drive! :(
I need to reclaim my Spring plan and give the green light to progress.
I obviously benefit from some green coloured spring tonic as every spring I seem to get lethargic. So I'm back on the green stuff and fast coming up to speed.
I definitely benefit from a plan and I'll be jotting down some ideas and looking at the old list.
But the idea is just to go, go, GO!

Motivated
I am definitely using the green Go on the traffic light!
I spent the morning cleaning and rearranging the front room with design ideas for paint and accessories in mind. I need to come up with a whole house plan so I am ready for any questions as we proceed with the renovations. I shall proceed each day with a room and have a recap on Friday. I think I have finally 'got ' it! I was supposed to quit and move onto mixed media after lunch but then I had a late lunch! lol
But my focus for the week is my Altered Book and the cover is shaping up and the weight is on for gluing in the spring tip ins. Elizabeth has posted lesson 19 which is Bringing It All Together and that is what I am trying to do this week. I used archival ink with a foam pad to ink the leaves on the gessoed cover.
Then I sprayed with a couple of different kinds of green spray. I added the transfer which was from clear tape.
The last bit of spray was shimmer with Perfect Pearls.
The first section, Spring, were tip ins and the glue is applied and the weight is resting on it as I type. Tip ins are loose pages that need to be glued into 2 pages that have been cut leaving one inch remaining for inserting the tip ins.
It is definitely a green day!

It's a GO!
Saturday: when I think green. go, go, go
Last chance to get things done for the current week.

Last chance to get things done for the current week.

This'll call for old work clothes. Whoa, it really is lime. The yellow wants to separate out and I'm thinking at least 2 coats.

Surely the weeding and watering will be on the wane as summer draws to a close.

If I washed yesterday, the clothes should be dry by now.

But there is always time to connect with my ever growing community of friends and family.

Not likely any time for my growing interest in all forms of creativity.
But there is always time to connect with my ever growing community of friends and family.
Then a bit of quiet time to gaze out my favorite window and get ready for family day.

A time to reflect on all the growth over the last couple of decades.
