I live one hour from Winnipeg, know nationally as Winterpeg because we can have long brutal winters.
This past winter was especially long and then spring was just plain cold, wet, and grey. Then the mosquitoes descended in full strength. Miserable creatures! We are now into hot and dry. lol
But there is also a saying among locals that we have two seasons. Winter and Construction!
This is the season I am in right now. I am not alone as the Rooster has also felt the effects of this challenging year. We are so behind; bogged down by one problem after another. And after a meeting the minds, mostly his, we are making some changes. Age needn't defeat one but we certainly can't run as fast, as long, nor as hard as we once did. But we can run smarter! :) Yay for the Rooster! We are getting a plan into position.
We are under construction.

Running smarter is a good choice!
You and the Rooster are smart to realize this. we try to pack to much in and forget to enjoy. share how you find balance. We all could use some.
Pausing to reflect and redirect your route is very smart. Mr. C and I are finding it more difficult to keep up with all we have always done...home and yard maintenance come to mind! Sounds like we all need "staff". Serene Sunday Dear...
With you on the journey, elle. Evaluating my art and the "why?" behind it. It's good to be reminded that at this time in our lives "pace" doesn't need to equal "pressure". :-) Be well!
I often say I'm taking a break, then before you know it, I'm back blogging again. For some reason, it feeds my soul, my art, and my love of blogger/blogging friends.
It's always good to pause and reevaluate. Just don't be gone too long, because we would miss you. But packing so much into one month may be more than you can handle as the days get shorter and our bodies get older.
Like your re-cap of the crazy weather we all have had this year ... seems the same with whomever I talk with on this planet.
I sympathize with your need to change direction (that's how I read it) ... I am light years ahead of my husband who is too stubborn to realize that he isn't getting any younger ... just have to wait for him to catch up ! Time to think of the future we have left.
We may not run as fast and as far as we used too but with a little thought and patience, we can still get there.
