Humming along.

I should be sauntering through the garden instead of sweating in the second story!  :O

The humidex is out of sight and health warnings are on the weather networks.  I seem to all too often embark on these projects in the height of summer.  They also invariably coincide with the green juice regimen.  I hadn't really thought about the detox aspect of juicing but tend to focus on the energy burst.  oh, well.  :/

Today will put me half done, I hope.   I have some touch ups at the ceiling line and second coats on the outside of the cupboards.  That small one was a bear to  do.  The doors slide and the shelves are not deep.  The whole thing, a wash stand the Rooster says, is quite beat up but sturdy and very useful.  I'm diddling on the cedar chest colour but in an attempt to not get cute and redo this stuff, white IS classic.  So I'm thinking bright pillows if it doesn't get buried in stuff!

The next room will be a quicker paint.  I've only two plain book cases to do and these drawers.  But first is all this stuff.  Likely it'll be a bit of painting and then lots of sorting and shoving for today.

If all goes according to Hoyle I should sink into bed tonight with a sigh that I'm over the hump. And that will be very good.  hum, hum, HUM

My son in law makes me very jealous with his humongous hydrangeas.  I tried again with 'another' plant last year.  This IS definitely the year for flowers.  Even for me!!!  I  couldn't end with those messy drawers so I hope this leaves you humming!

Re: lax

This week has kinda been a white out!  I think Murphy went over to DS#3    vbsigh

So I went to the library, picked out the fattest book I could find and hid in its pages till the blizzard was over.  sheesh
Time to stand up and face things like the Rooster.  Time to stop being a chicken!  ;)

So with not much time remaining I shall finish the week ...  I am working on texture.  Or I was.  The Rooster has other plans.  I shall finish that clean white page next week!  ;)

Coming, dearie!!!!

in the mood for white

The snow is minimal but the wind is COLD.   I am in the mood for white and warm!

This week is all about my list of projects and I have texture on my mind.  I am really hoping to get a lot of different things crossed off my list.  hmm,  make that with whiteout! ;)

wow - a whiteout!

No visibility on Monday but it looks like business as usual now although things got a bit blurry with the wedding quilt.  Again!  :(

Last Friday I did a major errand run and as I was not happy with the wedding quilt I decided to try a compatible green and a plain white for the final border.  I washed up the fabric.  I ironed and added some spray starch and began cutting.

I think the white dots on the one green  are distracting. The tone on tone floral is the better choice even if a bit lighter than the ones already in the top.  I was thinking the edges could kinda fade out. I cut someof the white. Oye, so glad I didn't do all of the pieces as they are way too stark to my way of thinking.  I am NOT going back to any more stores to look.  I have done that at least three times previously and  there are no better choices.  :(  Now I've had some yardage of a similar look to the floral but I had just discounted it because it has blue and not aqua.  But I was desperate and ...

I think it can work.

I also replaced the striped pink for the darker solid. I had too much texture with diagonal lines that I had somehow never noticed.  :O  I think when I restarted this old wip I had just kept telling myself it was okay and forging ahead.  But I have learned that it is better to admit I don't like it before I have way more to 'fix' than I am comfortable fixing.  lol

A bit more of the white stuff!

The lady in the pet shop brought a white cockateil out for the grand kiddies to see up close and personal.

Nice, but my dear namesake told me later she'd rather have a snake!  snort!  This was while the grand son was trying to catch the goldfish!  :O   The kiddies luv the outing.  It is just me that becomes the fast moving white blur!

I am discovering how to use white.  The big brush Pitt artist pen arrived in my local store and I can hardly wait for the new distress paint.  Dylusions has a very cool white spray I want to try as well.

The 'puter is off to the spa tomorrow.  I  will be sleeping on the new fabric choices but I think this will be as good as it is gonna get.

Bloggers are always a helpful bunch so I'll be considering all the comments and as always I recommend the creative bunch at The Needle and Thread Network.

The black and white of it

It is reckoning time.

The flock is scattered.

Time get the border collie out for a regrouping.

Time to circle the flock, bunch them up and do the tally.

Let's have a look at you girls.

Then perhaps the guard dog can see that the fence lines aren't breached.

I wish it was that simple to bring my own projects from the four corners that they have all scattered into.  But...

I must.

Even a black and white picture of my white veranda garden can't quite conceal the weeds that have elbowed their way in.

It is time to restore some order. I need to get a wider perspective, the panoramic view. My eyes should travel over the full effect of my landscape and enjoy the full colour spectrum as the colour wheel works its way around my fences.
