This end of the table looks good but things deteriorate from there.
In a search for some various things from the past I've managed to turn everything pretty topsy turvy.
The quilt show deadline looms far too soon.
What's on the wall?
This takes some clear thinking and I haven't had much clarity. The grand kiddies passed on their cold to their mum and she has been quite sick. But I am committed to finishing this as their house renovations should be done this summer so it'll serve a couple of purposes. But for now it will stay on the wall and hopefully all the pieces that are pinned in place. Good thing the grand kiddies are more important than quilts! lol
As for whats on the worktable,
I have a few tops that are pretty close to being finished.
Decisions, decisions?
The one project that is actually due for the quilt show is last year's challenge fabric and it is the project I am least excited about. I tried paint sticks and wouldn't you know it that right after I tried I got 2 Australian magazines from my sewing dealer with some good instructions. I believe the words 'gently rub' may have been overlooked by yours truly. VBSigh
So now what to do???
I'm linking to The Needle and Thread Network and I'll be looking to see if any of my fellow Canadians have any ideason their worktables that will spark the 'aha moment'!
Happy WOW Day!

I love the jars with bright bits in them - is it binding or just scraps or??? Definitely the grandkids are more important than quilts, I hope your daughter feels better soon, and you find your ahha! moment
I would suppose grandkids would come before quilts and that is why after years of wishing for grandkids I am now thankful that there are none, so quilts come before most everything! I even made my hubby go out and get a part time job so I could have more peace to quilt when he was working! hahahaha...
Paint sticks and stencils? maybe oneday I'll try... its ART, it can't be that bad, call it abstract!
I like the jars too...made me think of my buttons; I am going to do that with them..be colorful!! You are doing great with that quilt!!
Oil sticks and quilting...I'm interested to see what happens with that:)
All will get done in due time. I am still at a loss about your challenge material...how about covering it with beads to tone it down? Embellish it with lace, doilies and beads and call it done. Your wall quilt is getting done and looking fabulous.
Wistfull Wednesday Dear...
looks like you have a lot on the go. Lovely colours!
There are ribbons, cords, threads, and the dyed fabric tangles from the washer! :)
The bottles make them all look so pretty!!
I am interested to see your painting progess...sounds like fun!
I love the bottle idea! So neat and organized. I have no ideas for the painting but it does seem challenging. Lots of nice things happening on your worktable!
For a minute there I was envious of your tops, then my brain kicked in and reminded me that I have a bunch of those myself.....my daughter visited me very sick, but as of yet didn't manage to pass it on to me....good luck to you.
My first thought to your oil sticks question is a stencil (you can make one from freezer paper and iron it on) and a stencil brush. If your stencil is a little bigger than what you've done so far, you can define the area you want by rubbing the stencil brush on the paint stik and then brushing it from your stencil to your fabric. Looking great, Elle!
I'm not sure if that second last photo is all one quilt, but I really like the colours in the string piecing! Nicely done!
How many times have I turned my little sewing room upside down looking for something? You have my sympathies on that.
