The month of July took a might jump and finished quickly. This is our August long weekend and there is a long to-do list and a forecast with nothing but yellow suns! Here is hoping!
I was pleased with the start of my leaf study. I have a long way to go but I'm pretty excited to pursue them.
We are re-doing our garden area so any canning this year will be in my scrap booking. I diddled a bit but the final day of the local shop's sale had me scooping up some 'canning' supplies. ;)
We didn't catch any fly balls but the grand kiddie got the toss for the chip give away. He asked 'how long' in the second inning of the baseball game but there is always lots going on during the game so that we all had a really good time. And we won!
We made good use of our time in Creativity 101 and got lots of work done in the butterfly book. Here are the pages of Jenn's book from the front cover moving towards the back.
I do believe the dew is off the grass and the lawn mower is ready to jump into action! Here is to an awesome August!

Have a great long weekend! After a month of sun, we now have a few days of rain ahead. Ah well, nothing to pull me out of the studio!
Great beginnings dear. Looks like you are enjoying a bit of everything outdoors. That smile is priceless on your little one (who looks to be growing rapidly). The deer eat my daylillies before they can even bloom. The buds must be an aphrodisiac to them! Awesome August Indeed!!!
Have a good long weekend Elle:) I can't believe that it's August already. They are already showing back to school ads on TV....eeek!
I've been reading your blog even if I haven't been commenting but I wanted you to know I really like your leaf experiments and result. I love playing with leaves, too. But, I learned from you that smaller leaves can get some great results!
I love lilies, your pink ones are beautiful!
Love the lilies! And who doesn't enjoy winning something -- anything?! Have fun in August!
I love your series on leaves. I can see why you wanted a gelli plate. Lucky you!
That butterfly book is looking really grand. And I have NEVER seen lilies that color (and freckled) before. Stunning!
Happy August.
